Beware of Bharatgas Delivery boys charging you extra for the cylinder

I recently placed an order for LPG gas cylinder through phone with Bharat Gas which was delivered on 7th Jan 2016.

Delivery boy asked for Rs. 720 for 14.2 kgs. cylinder. I was taken aback because in last gas delivery if i remembered correctly, i paid around Rs. 650. So i asked him why the price has shot up suddenly. He mentioned that you should not worry because all the extra amount charged will be refunded through subsidy.

I asked him for the bill but he didn't had the bill. So i gave him 720 bucks and the empty cylinder.

I was very disturbed with the price variation so decided to check with the agency or through Bharat gass website (ebharatgas.com) online. I registered myself on ebharatgas.com using my Consumer number and logged a complaint. In no time, i got a response stating that the LPG price fluctuates just like the fluctuation in petrol / diesel prices and this Jan 2016 month's LPG rate is Rs. 685 so the delivery boy has overcharged me. They also mentioned that they have informed the respective agency and they are taking strict action against the delivery boy.

Later i got a call from delivery boy that he'll be returning tomorrow to refund me back the overcharged amount and also give the bill.

Lesson learnt through this incident, always ask for the bill. if the delivery boy do not give the bill, get intouch with the agency or through their website and ask them the LPG rates for the current date / month. You may not want to be fooled by the delivery boy who's trying to make extra money by overcharging the customers.

Also, please register yourself on ebharatgas.com if you are a Bharat Gas customer. It's super easy and takes only 5 minutes. You only need to have your Consumer Number and Mobile number handy while registering a new account. Also, you can book the refill online. It gives you an option to pay "Cash on Delivery" or Online Payment. So if you pay online, you don't need to pay anything to the delivery boy at the time of delivery.

Once registered, you can keep track of your past payments, subsidies you received and complaints history. It's super handy and you never know can save you your money.

Thanks

    1. Hi Kastoori,

First of all, very sorry for replying back so late.

Yes, better book online and make payment than being harassed by delivery guys.

      Thanks for dropping by.

  2. just today i have raised a complaint against a delivery boy.. he was trying to overcharge the price of th cylinder was 610/- he claimed 660/- includes delivery charges, but as per credit memo i supposed to pay 610/- so i refused to pay 50/-.. and tried to call local distributors office to complaint/provider office but couldn't reach them; so i made a call to bharath petroleum limited's toll free number(BPCL Customer Care SmartLine (1800 22 4344)) to raise a complaint.. they respond and raised a complaint and reported to the gas provider... we dont need to pay extra amount for cylinders, delivery charges are already included and finalized in that... so if they ask for xtra money use your mouth and talk rules, if they being so rude just raise a complaint. if u wanna tip them tip
