In this post, i'll review 3 Bollywood movies that has made it to my Watch list.
1. Talvar: This Meghna Gulzar directorial movie is an eye opener as to what happened in Noida Double Murder Case in 2008. The movie revolves around Aarushi Talwar's murder case trying to draw a thin line between facts and rumors.
It shows the real side of how loosely the Police and Investigation team worked while solving the case and how corrupt the System is.
I always thought (thanks to the Media) that it was Aarushi's parents who were responsible for her death untill i saw this movie which unfolds the real story as to what actually happened.
Irrfan Khan, the investigator in the movie rightly said in the end, the case would have been solved much earlier if police had done their investigation properly.
The movie clearly shows how the victims unknowingly became the accused and the real culprits were set free on the street.
Without revealing any part of the mystery behind the double murder case, i would highly recommend this movie to all those who still think it was Aarushi's parents responsible for her death.
I loved the way the movie was directed. Irrfan Khan, Konkana Sen Sharma & Neeraj Kabi did a fabulous role in justifying the character's portrayal. Based on true events, it keeps you at the edge of your seat till the last minute.
IMDB (Rating 8.5): Talvar

2. The Stoneman Murders: This Kay Kay Menon starrer movie talks about a psychopath Stoneman who went on a killing spree killing street dwellers in year 1983 in Mumbai. It's an Urban Legend movie that talks about superstitious people and to the extent they can go in killing the innocents.
I never believed such a case ever existed untill i saw this movie which talks about the incidents that happened in 1983 in Bombay and again re-emerged in 1987 in Calcutta. Although the case was literally solved, but was classified as whodunit as the psycho killer was never found.
I would recommend this movie to everyone who wants to know about the stoneman murders in 1983 in Mumbai and what led a person to become a psycho killer.
Kay Kay Menon's brilliant acting as an Investigating police officer was the highlight of the movie. The other actors did pretty well too to make it a perfect thriller.
IMDB (Rating 7.4): The StoneMan Murders

3. Paanch: This movie talks about 4 friends who wasted their youth for drugs, money and music. All broke, makes a plan to kidnap one of their friend and things fall apart when kidnapping goes wrong and thus, one muder lead to another. Drug abuse, frustration and uncontrollable anger makes Kay Kay Menon (the Lead Guitarist) go crazy which results in betrayal within the band members and murders.
This Anurag Kashyap directorial is a perfect blend of jazz, band, music, drugs, sex and murders and also humor.
Sad part is, the movie was never released officially in theaters as Censor Board never allowed the release. I still wonder what was so explicit in the movie that the Censor Board decided to stop its release. Yes, it may not be a family movie but is definitely a reality check about the dominance of drugs and anger on youth in society today.
One must watch this movie for stupendous acting done by Kay Kay Menon and other actors. The best part of the movie is the climax which is completely unimaginable.
Watch this movie for 3 reasons : Anurag Kashyap's direction, Kay Kay Menon's acting and the story.
IMDB (Rating 7.7): Paanch
